I have been motivated for years to become an FNP. In particular, I enjoy working more in underserved communities. I hope to have an impact on the lives of my future patients. In addition, most importantly, I want my two children to be proud of me and carry my determination into their own personal and career lives.
What attracted me to the online TWU FNP program was that TWU offered to help the students find their clinical sites. Ultimately, I found three of my five sites, but TWU's offer to find sites was a welcome stress reducer. My biggest advice is to have a support system at home, and don't plan on working more than one day a week at your regular job during the last semester.
The most important thing I have learned in the program is that I can actually finish the program. I am about 12 weeks away from graduation. But starting at the beginning, it was difficult to see the trees from the weeds. I have had a few challenges in the program, and Olivia, my FNP TWU online Denton academic success coach since May 2024, has always been a bedrock of positive encouragement and support.
