Yes, all of our students sit for boards as a requirement to transition from student to certified FNP. We do require a pre-testing "HESI" in your last two semesters, which is a simulated board exam. Most students also take a board review course prior to sitting for the exam.

Yes, there is a one-off $50 application fee to apply.

Due to the clinical requirements of the program, students must be a US Citizen or a Permanent Resident.

To be considered for enrollment in the MSN-FNP program, you must meet the following requirements: 

  • Hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing 
  • Have a 3.0 or higher GPA from your undergraduate program 
  • Students with 2.8 or higher may be considered for admittance on a provisional basis 
  • Hold a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license 
  • Must have completed an undergraduate or graduate-level statistics course 

Absolutely. While Texas Woman's University was originally founded to provide a liberal education and to prepare young women with a specialized education, men have been admitted at Texas Woman's University since 1972 and are represented in the online graduate program.
