Assistant Clinical Professor
Kristin (Kris) Corkins is a Family Nurse Practitioner and a proud Texas Woman's University (TWU) alumna (Class of 2014). Her dedication to academic excellence at TWU began in 2017, when she started serving as adjunct faculty for both the master's and bachelor's programs. In January 2021, she transitioned into a full-time faculty role at the university.
In May of 2026, Kristin graduated with her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership Organization from TWU, an achievement that further fuels her passion for lifelong learning and leadership in nursing education. Clinically, she keeps her practice current by working one day a week with Crossover Healthcare, serving patients across the metroplex.
Personal Life & Community Involvement
Family and community are at the very heart of Kristin's life. Married to her husband since 1994, they are the proud parents of three fantastic adult children and, as of July 2026, her first grandchild.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Kristin is actively involved in her community and enjoys:
- Music: Singing in her church’s praise and worship band, website design, and stewards committee.
- Service: Volunteering monthly with her family at the Tarrant County Food Bank to help distribute food in Ponder.
- Leisure: Spending her free time reading, playing video games, or simply enjoying quality time with her family.
